Hello, and thank you for your interest in the Chief Executive Officer role at PA Housing.
We’re a people first organisation with a clear purpose to provide, warm, safe, and affordable homes and related services to those who need them. We’re proud to serve more than 50,000 residents who call our 24,000 properties across London, the South East, and the Midlands home. Our business is not about properties though. It’s about the people who live in our homes and the neighbourhoods and communities they live in. With assets of £2.5bn, a turnover of £225m, and a team of 750 colleagues, we’re a not-for-profit organisation with a social heart and a commercial mindset, regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing. Everything we do is about creating safe, sustainable, and welcoming homes for the people and communities we serve.
This is an exciting time in PA Housing’s story and an exciting time for you to join us. Over the past three years, we’ve been on a transformational journey – one focused on rebuilding our relationships with residents, one that is based on trust and by listening to their voices and experiences to truly guide our work and allow us to reshape our services. This has seen a widespread cultural shift as a business to put people first.
Our outgoing CEO has laid the foundations for a modern, agile, and values-led organisation. Under their leadership, we’ve achieved a great deal:
- Delivered over £20 million in catch-up planned maintenance through improved operating capacity.
- Raised our energy performance of homes with an EPC rating of C or better, from 74% to 82%.
- Increased resident satisfaction whilst substantially reducing dissatisfaction
- Grown our customer-facing workforce by more than 60%
- Delivered a record number of new homes in the year ending April 2025
- Ensured 100% of our homes meet the Decent Homes Standard.
Our recent regulatory inspection reflected these achievements, and while we’re proud of how far we’ve come, we know there’s still much more to do. That’s where you come in.
As we move into Phase 2 of our transformation, we’re looking for a CEO who will continue to embed a people first and resident centred approach deep within our culture making it the instinctive way we work every day. You’ll be building on solid foundations, supported by a committed and passionate team, and by a Board that blends sector knowledge with external commercial expertise. You’ll join the Executive Team and work together, to create lasting impact for our residents and communities and continue to raise the bar for what good social housing looks and feels like.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring curiosity, creativity, and courage. You’ll be an agile and empathetic leader – someone who can inspire people through both challenge and change, and who has the energy to drive innovation while holding firm to our social purpose. As a forward-thinking leader and someone who can unite our people around a shared purpose, you’ll challenge us to think differently, and bring warmth, strength, and conviction to the role. You’ll recognise the social housing sector is changing so will need to explore and implement new ideas, and you’ll have the leadership presence to navigate these changes and empower others to do their best work and be the best version of themselves they can be. Above all, your passion for outstanding customer service and your commitment to social housing will shine through everything you do.
